The holiday season is always full of events and happenings, but that doesn’t mean that fall shouldn’t get it’s due as well! Before Thanksgiving feasts, even before the Halloween spookiness descends, Chicago is cooking up plenty of autumnal fun for all of us. These are just a few of the delicious events that are happening right now or coming up quickly in the Windy City:

Lynn Sage Foundation’s In Good Taste (All October): Lynn Sage has spent years working to find a cure for breast cancer by supporting innovative research in Chicago. Throughout the month of October, they are partnering with restaurants across the city and offering specials for Breast Cancer Awareness Month that will benefit their amazing work. From Vanille to Bluegrass Restaurant to Bar Cargo and more, there are plenty of places to check out for delicious meals that also do good in our community.

Blacktober (All October): Presented by Black People Eats, this event celebrates Black restaurants across Chicago for the whole month of October. It’s the perfect way to find new places or be reminded of old favorites worth another visit. Black-owned and operated businesses continue to need our support and this is such a simple but wonderful spotlight on all their hard work.

Bar Siena x Fabio Viviani Bomboloni Experience (Saturday, October 24 at 9:30AM): Our kind of “cooking class” is one that comes with bottomless brewed coffee, mimosas, housemade bomboloni, and signature Hotter Chocolate! Learn from Chef Fabio Viviani about creating his secret bomboloni recipe all while digging in at Bar Siena. It’s the perfect cozy fall morning activity!

Virtual Dining Chicago: Apologue + Lula Cafe: Crafting The Perfect Negroni (Friday, October 23 at 6:30PM): Chicago-based Apologue and Lula Cafe are joining forces to create a seasonal riff on everyone’s favorite aperitif. They are both excited to elevate the home cocktail scene with this class and their corresponding cocktail kits. This class is a part of the Apologue #kitsforcauses campaign and they will be donating $15 from each sale to Pilot Light.

Daisies Fall Pumpkin Patch (Through Halloween): The Daisies team has designed a pumpkin patch so guests can have the quintessential fall experience without needing to travel too far this year. Social distancing guidelines will be observed, and pumpkins are available for $10 each. As a bonus, they’re also offering Pumpkin Patch and Halloween family portrait sessions with various Chicago photographers on the following dates: 10/24 and 10/31. Please visit Tock here to book.

Let’s Talk: FLAVOR – October Tastings (Fridays and Saturdays in October): Support Chicago’s female chefs with special tasting menus that will truly give you a taste of the world. From Choose Chicago, Illinois Restaurant Association, and the James Beard Foundation, “FLAVOR – October Tastings” is an initiative of “Chicago Let’s Talk,” a collaboration of women restaurateurs and chefs looking to highlight women in the culinary world. Restaurants like Vermilion are offering “Savor the World” tasting menus that will be available for delivery or pick-up. They’re the perfect way to try the best from female culinarians with ease.
