Dishes, Drinks and Desserts to Make Your Insta-Feed Happy

With more than 1 billion users worldwide, there’s no doubt people love to share their lives on Instagram (or Tiktok or Facebook and on and on). It’s no secret that Instagram can influence what you wear, what type of fitness class you partake in and most importantly what you eat. We’re a part of that, too! And especially in a city like Chicago, where restaurants and influencers are constantly posting about recipes you have to try or hot new spots to stop by, you’re bound to base your choices off what you see online. So, if you’re like us and are dying to find the most Instagram worthy spots, check out our list of the dishes, drinks and desserts that will make your Insta-feed happy. The camera eats first after all ;)

Bombobar {832 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.967.7000}

If you’ve lived in Chicago for a few years (or even a few months) and have an Instagram accout, you’ve probably seen desserts from Bombobar. The West Loop staple not only offers bomboloni; they also have coffee, housemade gelato, and over-the-top seasonal chocolate beverages that you don't want to miss. If you’re in the area, stop by and try one of their Italian hole-less doughnuts filled with salted caramel, raspberry, nutella and more!

Starbucks Reserve Roastery {646 Michigan Avenue, Chicago; 312.283.7100}

I know it may seem weird to send people to a coffee roastery for a non-coffee drink, but hear me out. This spot has way more to offer than just coffee and scones. If you are in River North and need a place to stop by after work for a cocktail, head to the 2nd floor for one of their amazing spritzes. With choices like a Sparkling Balsamic Spritz, Cucumber Mint Spritz and Blood Orange Tea Spritz, you’ll never think of Starbucks as a coffee-only spot again.

The X Pot {1147 South Delano Court East, Chicago; 312.585.8655}

Even if you live in a city like Chicago where there are a million and one restaurants and new spots always popping up, going out to eat can start to feel repetitive. The X Pot will change all of that though! If you want to spice up your dinner plans, the South Loop spot is bringing boiling pots of broth, a lot of Wagyu beef and even ROBOT SERVERS to the Roosevelt Collection. If you stop by, you must try their Wagyu Feast hot pot.

Bazaar Meat {120 North Upper Wacker Drive, Chicago; 312.820.6601}

This sexy new spot is known for its proteins, but what you maybe didn’t realize is that they also have the most amazing cocktails. For a wild experience in drink form, order either the “Salt Air Margarita” made with Milagro blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime and topped with salt air or “The Floral Cloud” made of Fords gin, lemon, maraschino liqueur, creme de violette topped with a hibiscus-rose-orange blossom aromatic cloud. Both are video-friendly and tasty to boot!

Lucca Osteria {1415 22nd Street, Oak Brook; 630.866.7234}

Next time you’re heading to the suburbs, head to Lucca Osteria. Why? Two words: cheese wheel. Take a trip to the western suburbs and make a reservation at Lucca Osteria in Oak Brook to try their Fettuccine from a Cheese Wheel. The dish includes italian sausage, light creamy parmigiano, medley of mushroom, truffle butter and is served directly from a cheese wheel. It doesn’t get better than that!

Armitage Alehouse {1000 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago; 773.270.6402}

Armitage Alehouse, located in Lincoln Park, is a neighborhood favorite offering hearty pub eats and a wide array of ales and cocktails. Our top pick though, is the Sticky Date Cake, which is covered in date crumbles and toffee sauce with a side of brown butter gelato. If you’re not in the mood for something sweet try one of their pot pies with Heritage Chicken, Pheasant and Foie Gras and Steak and Ale to choose from.

Roots Pizza {multiple locations}

Let’s face it, there’s never a bad time for mozzarella sticks, especially when they come from Root’s Pizza. On their website they describe their mozzarella sticks as “handmade mozzarella sticks you’ll be telling strangers about,” and they are not wrong. The cheesy appetizer is made from scratch with housemade and hand-stretched mozzarella, herbed breadcrumbs and marinara. If you need your cheese fix, this is a good place to start!

The Perch {1932 West Division Street, Chicago; 773.486.2739}

Finding a spot where you can bring your dog can be a challenge sometimes. So if you’re looking for a restaurant where both you and your furry friend can go, try out The Perch. Not only does The Perch have great food for humans, but they also have an entire menu dedicated to man's (or woman’s) best friend. As the weather gets warmer stop in and get your pup a Pupsicle made with honey yogurt, peanut butter and banana and you’ll both want to come back for more! Your doggo might need their own food Instagram after this stop!
