Fruity Tooty Bright Cocktails for Summer

Summer and cocktails are two of our favorite words. And considering August is Chicago’s best and brightest (and hottest) month of the year, summer cocktails sound like a pretty good idea. So while summer is still in full swing here, enjoy the summer sun and delicious cocktails at some of our top spots for delicious drinks. Cheers!

The Dawson {730 West Grand Avenue, Chicago; 312. 243.8955}

Cool off at this River West hot spot with a cold and refreshing Frosé with La Neveran Rosé, St. Germain, Aelred Melon, Honey, Lime. The sweet drink is best enjoyed on The Dawson's lush outdoor patio, so come for happy hour, brunch or more.

Tuco and Blondie {3358 North Southport Avenue, Chicago; 773.327.8226}

In our mind, Taco Tuesday’s are an everyday kind of thing. But if you need an excuse to get tacos and margs, this is your sign! Head to Tuco and Blondie and sip on of their many margaritas (prickly pear and black cherry are our favorites) while you wait for your tacos.

Radio Room {400 North State Street, Chicago; 312.706.5228}

Stop by this River North favorite to end (or start) your week on a fancy note with Pinkies Up, a delicious summery cocktail made with Creyente Mezcal, Vervet Falernum liqueur, peychauds, prickly pear and lime. Spend your evening laughing with friends on their back patio and enjoying all the magic downtown Chicago has to offer.

Lonesome Rose {2101 North California Avenue, Chicago; 773.770.3414}

If you’re looking for a fun summer cocktail that goes down smooth, try the Jamaica Punchmade with Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry, hibiscus, Amargo Vallet, lime and demara at Lonesome Rose. Enjoy your classic cocktail as you chill on their intimate rooftop patio, taking in the summer sun. Make sure you order their queso too - It’s the best in the city!

Estereo {2450 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago}

Spend your summer days that turn into nights at Estereo, listening to vintage Latin sounds on vinyl with the garage doors up and the summer breeze flowing throughout. You’ll feel oh so relaxed  as you sip on one of Estero’s many Latin inspired cocktails. Bring your pups and your crew and enjoy an Agricole made with San Zanj Haitian Rum, Rhum Jm, La Favorite, guava, strawberry infused vermouth, campari and lime.

Tanta {118 West Grand Avenue, Chicago; 312.222.9700}

Tanta is home to all things authentic, Peruvian and delicious. While you might come for the food and the vibes, you will definitely want to stay for the cocktails. Transport yourself to South America as you savor the flavors of Peru as you drink the Pisco Sour made with pisco, lime, simple syrup, egg whites and bitters. It’s their signature sip for a reason!

Hubbard Inn {110 West Hubbard Street, Chicago; 312.273.6207}

The multi-level tavern everyone knows and loves, Hubbard Inn is the perfect place to spend your Sunday Funday drinking. As you bite into brunch with your girls, sip on the Smoke Show made with in house habanero and agave infused Casamigos Reposado, fresh blackberries, pineapple, lime and an Aromatic Dos Hombres Mezcal mist finish.
