Take Advantage of Indoor Dining in Chicago

We love a bit of good news. This is always true, but never more so than in the last year. As we come up on Chicago’s quarantin-iversary (it’s a sad but real upcoming date), restaurants and small businesses are still struggling and need any support they can get. Luckily, as of last weekend, you can support them in a whole new way: indoor dining.

Indoor dining has not been allowed in the city since October, but it is finally back at 25% capacity. Diners should also keep in mind that restaurants also have a four-person per table limit, and no more than 25 people are allowed per room. Masks and social distancing rules are also still in place, and bars that don’t serve food were not allowed to re-open for indoor business. However, even with these restrictions, the ability to open for indoor dining will likely mean the difference between survival and success for many restaurants across the city.

Since carryout and delivery will still be available, we understand that some might not feel comfortable dining inside just yet. And that’s totally okay! We can always help you find the best virtual experience, make the perfect carryout choice or visit a fantastic winter patio for you to take advantage of in the meantime.

However, for those who are ready to dine indoors, we’re highlighting some of our favorite spots who could really use your love right now! Mask up, head out and don’t forget to tip your servers as you visit these amazing local gems…

Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar {3358 North Paulina Street, Chicago; 773.248.5222}: One of the best parts of digging in to brick-oven pizza is being able to eat it right out of the oven! You can have that experience, plus enjoy the cozy atmosphere, by dining in at Frasca. Add in a glass of wine and you’ve got a wonderful night out for sure!

Cabra Chicago (pre-covid)

Cabra Chicago (pre-covid)

Cabra {200 North Green Street, Chicago; 312.761.1717}: Your appreciation of the Cabra menu will only be enhanced by being able to enjoy it in their stunning dining room. The design touches and service practically transport you to Peru, making each meal a mini vacation that we could all appreciate in the heart of Chicago winter.

Mon Ami Gabi {multiple locations}: Both the suburban and downtown locations of this long-loved French brasserie are now open for indoor dining. French cuisine is the perfect comfort food for wintertime, so we recommend a hearty bowl of Onion Soup au Gratin and a great glass of wine for a special dinner out.

Bodega Sur {3755 North Southport Avenue, Chicago; 773.904.8656}: If you’re ready to take your date night off the couch and out into the world again, Bodega Sur is a great place to start! The bistro has shareable dishes and an amazing wine selection, making it the perfect spot to cozy up and dig in with your favorite person.

Chicago Chop House {60 West Ontario Street, Chicago; 312.787.7100}: With the history of Chicago lining their walls, dining in at Chicago Chop House is a totally different experience than eating at home. You’ll have so many conversation-starters right on the walls thanks to more than 1,000 photos of iconic Windy City athletes, actors, and politicians - including photos of every mayor. If you’ve been running out of things to discuss with your quaranteam, these photos will change that in an instant!

Le Sud {2301 West Roscoe Street, Chicago; 773.857.1985}: After being closed for some of the winter, Le Sud is back in action with indoor dining as well as seating in their specialty heated outdoor domes. They’re only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so your dinner will be extra special and exclusive, plus you’ll be helping build back up a favorite neighborhood spot.

Yūgen

Yūgen

Yūgen {652 West Randolph Street, Chicago; 312.265.1008}: We’re so excited to welcome this Michelin-starred restaurant back for indoor dining! You’ll be able to experience their modern Japanese cuisine at its fullest flavor thanks to a special five-course tasting menu for Valentine’s Day weekend, followed by an eight-course tasting menu beginning on February 17. It’s the perfect place for foodies looking for a full dining experience as opposed to just a meal.

Riccardo Trattoria {2119 North Clark Street, Chicago; 773.549.0038}: For more than a decade, Riccardo Michi and his team have been serving up the best in classic Italian dishes. However, since their patio seating was limited, it has been tough to dine at their restaurant since last spring. That all changes now! You can still order carryout and delivery, but they are also accepting limited reservations inside. Don’t miss this opportunity to support a Chicago favorite!

Sociale Chicago {800 South Clark Street, Chicago; 312.588.1100}: A perfect spot for weekend brunch or a casual dinner, Sociale has an approachable menu that everyone will love. Their staff takes the ultimate pride in their work and will make your experience a fun (and delicious!) one for sure.
