Where To Get Your St. Patty’s Day On In Chicago

No one celebrates St. Patrick’s Day quite like Chicago! With the legendary river dyeing, multiple parades, flowing green beers AND the holiday falling over a weekend this year, the city is in for a wild time! Picking out the perfect spot to get your green beer on may seem daunting, so check out our list below of restaurants + bars all over the city that are hosting St. Paddy’s celebrations to remember..

Start your St. Patrick's Day celebration early. Head to Untitled Supper Club on Wednesday, March 13th for a whiskey-paired, coursed dinner featuring the world’s oldest licensed distillery, Bushmills.  Tickets includes a five-course dinner paired with three straight pours of Bushmills Single Malt Irish expressions including the ruby port pipe oak cask aged Bushmills 25 Year ($900+), as well as two complimentary Bushmills cocktails. Tickets are $95. It’s the perfect way to kick-off St. Patrick’s Day fun.

Skip the expensive plane ticket to Ireland and head to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery’s FIVE DAY St. Patrick’s Day celebration. This indoor-outdoor extravaganza will include a local & Dublin-brewed tap list, a menu of Irish classics, live entertainment, exclusive St. Patrick’s Day merch as well as a full-on block party on the 16th & 17th. And, for all the selfie-lovers out there, Guinness Open Gate will also feature a “Personalize Your Pint” offering where you can feature your own selfie on top of your brew!

Those seeking a higher-end St. Paddy’s Day celebration can head to LondonHouse Hotel and up to the swanky LH Rooftop Bar, where their unparalleled aerial views of the Chicago River dyeing await. Running from 8am-12pm on March 16th, guests can enjoy unobstructed views of the river dyeing while sipping on green beers + creative cocktails, fueling up with breakfast bites and dancing the morning away with live DJs. This is definitely a more boujee bar experience, but the views are more than worth the price of admission.

Celebrating an Irish holiday at an Italian restaurant may seem strange, but with its prime location on the Chicago riverfront, Pizzeria Portofino will be joining in on the St. Paddy’s festivities in full force! Sit back and relax with signature cocktails, passed apps as well as an entire assorted pizza station while the river turns green right before your eyes. This amazing deal runs from 8am-12pm on Saturday the 16th, so you can get your party on early and then walk the green riverfront after.

Their special St. Paddy’s Day brunch will feature a stacked brunch buffet as well as unlimited green beers + mimosas from 9am-1pm on Saturday the 16th. Start the party early, end the party early…. Or keep the party going with their “Dive Bar Pub Crawl” later that evening and their legendary “Still Peeing Green?” happy hour from 11am-2pm on Sunday the 17th!
